BIRMINGHAM head to Leicester on Thursday (August 28, 7.30) for their final senior team fixture before the club’s closure.
It promises to be another emotional night for all involved, just 72-hours after everyone connected said farewell to their Perry Barr Stadium home.
On that occasion, the Curtis Sport Brummies were comfortably beaten 58-32 by the Lions, but CEO Nigel Tolley is, unsurprisingly, desperate to see a much more competitive display this time around.
“It wasn’t a good performance at all on Monday but we’ve got one meeting left and I’d love us to round off with a win,” Tolley said.
“We’ve already been to Leicester and upset them in the league once this season - not many people expected us to go there and do that that time either!
“Leicester have been a lot more dialled in of late and their form has picked up since we beat them.
“But anything can happen and whilst it will be another sad, hopefully we can go out on something of a high.”
The two teams are unchanged with Simon Lambert once again guesting for the Brummies in place of the injured Ben Barker.
Anyone unable to attend the Hydroscand Arena on Thursday can stream the action via https://www.leicesterlionstv.com.
LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson. BIRMINGHAM: Tobiasz Musielak, Jonas Jeppesen, Keynan Rew, Paco Castagna, Matej Zagar, Simon Lambert, Sam Hagon.
