| | | THERE was no dream Perry Barr ending for Birmingham who said goodbye to the Second City venue with another lack-lustre home display.
The Curtis Sport Brummies were beaten with ease by Leicester 58-32 as they suffered their tenth straight defeat.
A sold out stadium meant a ten minute delay to the scheduled start - but sadly, the home faithful had very little to cheer about after their wait.
Title challengers Leicester were once again by far the better side and restricted the Brummies to just four race winners and zero heat advantages.
Paco Castagna was the last Birmingham race winner when he took the flag in Heat 14 before the Lions’ Sam Masters took the honour of being the final victor around the Perry Barr race circuit.
Emotions spilled out with many supporters in tears following the final race before they took to the track with hundreds taking in the final moments at their ‘home’.
The Brummies’ final fixture sees them travel to Leicester’s Hydroscand Arena this coming Thursday (August 28, 7.30pm).
BIRMINGHAM 32: Keynan Rew 8+2, Paco Castagna 8+1, Matej Zagar 7, Tobiasz Musielak 3, Jonas Jeppesen 3, Sam Hagon 2, Simon Lambert 1. LEICESTER 58: Sam Masters 12+2, Ryan Douglas 10+1, Max Fricke 10+1, Luke Becker 8+1, Joe Thompson 7+1, Drew Kemp 6, Kyle Howarth 5+3.
