| | | BIRMINGHAM stage their penultimate meeting at Perry Barr on Monday (August 11, 7.30pm) as they host King’s Lynn in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership.
The Curtis Sport Brummies are on a run of six straight defeats - but their last victory did come on the Stars’ previous visit at the end of June.
And after suffering their heaviest home defeat of the season at the hands of Sheffield last week, Italian racer Paco Castagna says he and his team-mates need to deliver a response.
“The fact that we have already beaten King’s Lynn gives us a bit of hope,” he said.
“We all want to win in these pits and I know that we are going to come out and start fresh because it is a new meeting.
“We will do our best but we know we need to do better.”
Birmingham are set to be at full strength with Ben Barker riding through the pain barrier on Saturday for Plymouth and scoring 18 points despite suffering a dislocated shoulder on Wednesday.
Castagna moves to No.4 with Jonas Jeppesen shifted to No.2.
Lewi Kerr comes in as a guest in place of Ben Cook for the visitors who are led by Grand Prix competitor Jan Kvech.
There is also an extended second half on Monday with a staggering 16 races including the MDL Alan Grahame Memorial Individual.
Supporters should note that the only place to watch the action is in person at the stadium with TNT Sports broadcasting Sheffield v Belle Vue with highlights coming from Leicester v Oxford. Club streaming is not permitted on these occasions and a delayed stream has proven to be financially unviable.
