REACTION - BRUMMIES 49 KING’S LYNN 41

Tuesday July 01, 2025
BIRMINGHAM captain Tobiasz Musielak described Monday’s 49-41 home success over King’s Lynn as a much needed win.

The Curtis Sport Brummies bounced back from a heavy defeat at Oxford last Thursday as they took full advantage of the visitors being reduced to five riders part way through the contest with Ben Cook and Jan Kvech both aggravating existing injuries.

The Brummies made a much brighter start at Perry Barr with two 5-1s in the first three races and also finished on a high to get the job done with two maximums also.

Musielak dropped just one point to an opponent, as did Keynan Rew on a much improved display.

Jonas Jeppesen also chipped in with two impressive race wins with the rest of the team contributing some crucial points between them.

Said Musielak: “Of course King’s Lynn’s situation helped us, and hopefully Ben and Jan will come back soon, but we needed this win and we did a good job in the last few races and it was a much needed victory.”

“It was so close for all the meeting but we started well, we finished well and job done.

“Oxford away was difficult, but this was a new day and we were keeping focussed.”

The Curtis Sport Brummies travel to Sheffield on Thursday (July 3, 7.30pm) and whilst there is no Premiership action at Perry Barr until Monday, July 21, the Ductair Bulls host Kent in the National Development Trophy next Monday (July 7, 7.30pm).

BIRMINGHAM 49: Tobiasz Musielak 13+1, Keynan Rew 12+2, Jonas Jeppesen 8, Matej Zagar 6, Ben Barker 5+2, Paco Castagna 4+1, Sam Hagon 1+1.
KING’S LYNN 41: Nicolai Klindt 10+1, Luke Harrison 8+1, Richard |Lawson 7+1, Chris Harris 7+1, Niels-Kristian Iversen 7, Jan Kvech 2, Ben Cook 0.
