PREVIEW: BRUMMIES v OXFORD

Sunday May 04, 2025
BIRMINGHAM’S new look line-up will tackle a key ROWE Motor Oil Premiership double with Oxford on Bank Holiday Monday (May 5).

The Curtis Sport Brummies take on the Spires at Sandy Lane at 1pm with the two then meeting in the return at Perry Barr at 7.30pm.

Despite racing ten league meetings between them, neither club has yet managed to taste victory.

And with a total of five league points on the line across Monday’s two fixtures, one side has the potential to really close in on the teams above them in the standings.

Paco Castagna and Danyon Hume both return to Birmingham for their latest debuts whilst captain Tobiasz Musielak makes his second appearance of the season at Oxford having finished runner-up at the Ben Fund Bonanza in March.

“Of course we need a win,” Musielak said.

“But I think we should get our chins up and maybe go into it with no expectations - maybe we want it too much.

“Let’s go into it with no stress, that’s what I did at the Bonanza at Oxford and it worked for me.”
