| | BIRMINGHAM boss Chris Adams says there’s no point dwelling on the club’s heaviest defeat since returning to the top-flight of British Speedway.
The Curtis Sport Brummies were outgated for the majority of their 61-29 loss at Sheffield on Thursday and struggled to generate any real speed at Owlerton Stadium.
Jason Edwards, Michael Jepsen Jensen and Matej Zagar provided the Second City side’s only three race wins of the contest on a tough night to take in South Yorkshire.
Said Adams: “It’s one of those tracks where if you haven’t got the set-up right and you don’t hit form from the word go, you can soon be trailing by quite some distance.
“Unfortunately, that was the case for us and we only started to get going a little bit once it was way too late.
“We were all very disappointed with how it all went, but there’s no point thinking about it too much now - we have to learn and show we’re better than that next time we go back to Sheffield.
“We have to move forward, we need to look ahead and we’ve got another big meeting coming up at home on Monday (April 7, 7.30pm) against Ipswich.”
SHEFFIELD 61: Josh Pickering 16+1, Jack Holder 14, Anders Rowe 11+4, Chris Holder 11+1, Leon Flint 7+4, Danyon Hume 2, Tai Woffinden R/R. BIRMINGHAM 29: Matej Zagar 7, Keynan Rew 5+1, Michael Jepsen Jensen 5, Jason Edwards 4+1, Jonas Jeppesen 4, Tobiasz Musielak 3+1, Antti Vuolas 1.
