| | BIRMINGHAM were beaten 53-37 at Belle Vue as the Manchester men continued their home dominance.
The Aces have only lost two league fixtures at the National Speedway Stadium since the beginning of 2022.
And with the Curtis Sport Brummies pointless on the road since returning to the top-flight of British Speedway, it was always going to be a big ask.
Another sluggish start put them on the back foot straight away as the hosts raced into a 16 point lead with seven races gone.
Belle Vue won the toss for gate positions and selected one and three - and they gated their way to a 5-1 in the opener.
Off the same grids, the Brummies looked set to respond in Heat Two - but whilst Michael Palm Toft held on for the win out front, Leon Flint was passed by Antti Vuolas.
Heat Three saw the Aces land another 5-1 before Tom Brennan and Flint filed in behind home captain Brady Kurtz for the first shared race in Heat Four.
Wiktor Lampart led for the majority of Heat Five, but home duo Jaimon Lidsey and Ben Cook both flew past the Pole on the final lap for their second maximum.
Brennan managed to split Dan Bewley and Norick Blodorn in Heat Six before the hosts recorded their fourth 5-1 of the fixture in the seventh when mechanical gremlins struck Piotr Pawlicki after an initial bright start away from the inside.
But with plenty of mechanical changes happening in the pits, the Brummies started creeping back into the contest.
Flint and Lampart teamed up for Birmingham’s first 5-1 in Heat Eight before Brennan rode a solid ride in the ninth to end Lidsey and Ben Cook’s unbeaten start.
Heat Ten saw Zach Cook and Pawlicki gate on a 5-1, and whilst Cook raced away out front, Pawlicki was re-passed by Bewley as the Brummies had to settle for a 4-2.
Heat 11 saw Freddie Lindgren deliver his first points of the night as he came out on top of a gripping battle with Kurtz, and with Lampart finishing third the Brummies had halved the deficit to eight points come the interval.
Brennan came out as a tactical substitute in Heat 12 for the Brummies, but no further damage could be done as Lidsey took the chequered flag.
The hosts then reeled off three straight advantages to seal a comfortable night’s work as the Brummies fell to their tenth straight defeat.
Next up on Thursday (August 8, 7.30pm) it’s a trip to Leicester - the side who have now moved into the play-off positions following their win at King’s Lynn on Monday.
BELLE VUE 53: Brady Kurtz 14, Ben Cook 11+1, Jaimon Lidsey 9+2, Dan Bewley 8+1, Antti Vuolas 6+2, Norick Blodorn 5, Jake Mulford 0.
