THERE was a double celebration for Birmingham’s two youngest riders on Saturday.
Tom Brennan finished third in the Attis Insurance Sports Division British Final - and with current Grand Prix stars Dan Bewley and Tai Woffinden ahead of him on the rostrum, the Curtis Sport Brummies’ heat-leader received the Wild Card for the British GP at Cardiff on Saturday, August 17.
Said Brennan: “It was a fantastic night for myself.
“It was a shame I couldn’t go a couple steps more in that final but I guess that’s down to experience.
“Cardiff is huge for every British rider so it will be a massive occasion for myself.
“It’s a dream come true for me, I will do the best I can.”
Also in the British Final, Steve Worrall was reintroduced into the line-up following recent illness and reached the semi-final.
Elsewhere, Leon Flint qualified for this year’s SGP2 series with a steely performance in France.
Having scored 12 points from his qualifying rides, Birmingham’s Rising Star then finished second in a run-off to secure his place where he will now take on the world’s top Under-21 riders over three rounds, starting in Sweden next weekend.
