| | BIRMINGHAM were well beaten 43-29 by Leicester in a meeting cut short after 12 races due to heavy rain.
The Curtis Sport Brummies were outgated and out battled in the opening turns for the majority of the Midlands derby as their wait for a win in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership rolls on.
The visitors opened with a 4-2 before Brummies reserve Zach Cook recorded two straight wins, the second as a substitute for guest Scott Nicholls who touched the tapes in Heat Three.
But Birmingham were left shell shocked when the Lions hit a hat-trick of 5-1s and then a 4-2 to move 16 points ahead.
Tom Brennan came out and led a 4-2 in Heat Eight before Steve Worrall and Scott Nicholls gated their way to a 5-1 in the ninth.
But it was the visitors who then reeled off three more race wins before the fixture was abandoned due to worsening conditions with the result standing.
The Brummies are next in action a week on Thursday (April 25, 7.30 pm) when they travel to Leicester to face the Lions in the return at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena.
