ADAMS TARGETS HOME SUCCESS

Monday February 19, 2024
ASSISTANT team manager Chris Adams says building a solid home record will be essential for Birmingham as they return to top flight speedway.

The Curtis Sport Brummies will compete in a seven team Premiership - with the first fixture at Perry Barr against reigning Champions Sheffield on Monday, March 25 (7.30) after their open at Oxford on Thursday, March 14 (7.30).

And while Adams isn’t keen on piling the pressure on his riders too early, he hopes they can show enough consistency across the campaign to achieve a top four finish.

He said: “We all know how it works, you don’t have to win every single meeting, the aim as always will be concentrating to make sure you get into those play-offs - that will be our focus from the off.

“If you’re going to be successful, you’ve got to win at home.

“You’ve got to get those points on the board and then going away from home just grab what you can.”

More from Adams can be read in the latest issue of ‘Speedway Star’ (Week Ending February 17), available to purchase online now via: speedwaystar.net/store/magazines.
