BRUMMIES AND HURRICANES FORM PARTNERSHIP

Wednesday January 31, 2024
BIRMINGHAM Speedway are pleased to announce a special partnership with Midlands Hurricanes for 2024.

It comes as part of an initiative which hopes to see local sporting clubs promote one another’s fixtures and events throughout the year.

The Hurricanes are a professional rugby league club who play their home matches just minutes away from the Curtis Sport Brummies’ Perry Barr Stadium at the well-known Alexander Stadium.

And as part of the agreement, Birmingham Season Ticket Holders and Midland Hurricanes’ ‘Storm Card Holders’ will receive FREE ENTRY to one another’s fixtures when both clubs are at home on the same weekend.

Birmingham Commercial Manager Steve Rolleston said: “This is something we are very excited about and we feel both clubs, and their supporters, can reap the rewards from this agreement.

“The two clubs are very close in proximity yet there’ll be Brummies supporters who don’t know about the Hurricanes, and Midlands Hurricanes supporters who don’t know about the Brummies.

“So I’m sure we’ll see new supporters at these fixtures when we’re both at home on the same weekend and hopefully both sports will receive some new fans who attend on a regular basis.

“It is a pleasure for us to become a partner with Midlands Hurricanes and I look forward to working with them on several initiatives moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Hurricanes Commercial Manager Nick Parr said: “Birmingham Speedway have been great during this entire process and I know that both us and the Brummies are keen to thank Stuart Curtis at Curtis Sport for facilitating this.”

Confirmation of the ‘free’ fixtures will be published in due course.

In the meantime, full information about the Midlands Hurricanes can be found via their official club website: https://midlandshurricanes.com
