BIRMINGHAM missed out on a play-off place after being beaten by Edinburgh on Friday.
The Curtis Sport Brummies went down 38-34 in a meeting abandoned after 12 races due to the curfew at Armadale.
Thankfully, the missed final three races wouldn’t have made a difference to their league position after the hosts had already beaten Plymouth in the first part of their double header, meaning Brummies needed a victory of 19 points or more to regain sixth spot.
It was an incident packed fixture with guest No.1 Kyle Howarth and teenage reserve Sam Hagon both withdrawn - the latter suffering a dislocated right hip.
Whilst that brings the Brummies’ domestic season to an end, the Club are still planning a minimum of two further fixtures at Perry Barr with the British Under-19 Final to be restated and the Alan Grahame Memorial versus a Cradley Select side to be arranged.
EDINBURGH 38: Richard Lawson 9, Kye Thomson 8, Josh Pickering 8, Luke Killeen 5+3, Paco Castagna 5+1, Lasse Fredriksen 3, Bastian Borke 0. BIRMINGHAM 34: Justin Sedgmen 10, Troy Batchelor 9, Alfie Bowtell 6+2, Stefan Nielsen 3+1, Sam Hagon 3, Kyle Howarth 2, Paul Starke 1+1. Abandoned after heat 12 due to curfew - Result STANDS Edinburgh win the aggregate bonus point
