BIRMINGHAM head to reigning Champions Poole tonight (Wednesday, August 30, 7.30) in the Cab Direct Championship.

The Curtis Sport Brummies have once again called upon Josh Pickering to guest at No.1 whilst Stefan Nielsen is also fit to face his former club following a recent wrist complaint.

Nielsen was boosted by success over the weekend winning the Belgian Open.

Ahead of the visit to Wimborne Road, team manager Stewart Dickson said: “It’s one of those meetings where we’ve got nothing to lose.

“Nobody from the outside will be expecting anything from Birmingham down at Poole - especially with the Pirates still targeting top of the table.

“Edinburgh winning at Plymouth on Tuesday night was a pretty big blow to us, but we just have to focus on our last couple of meetings that we’ve got.

“Everyone knows how strong Poole are so I just want the Birmingham riders to go and give a good account of themselves and be competitive.”

POOLE: Richard Lawson, Kyle Newman, Ben Cook, Zach Cook, Steve Worrall, Anders Rowe, Joe Thompson,
BIRMINGHAM: Josh Pickering, Stefan Nielsen, Troy Batchelor, Alfie Bowtell, Justin Sedgmen, Sam Hagon, Paul Starke.
