BIRMINGHAM will be without Stefan Nielsen for tonight's (Friday, August 25, 8.45 approx) trip to Edinburgh.

The 28-year-old was attended to by paramedics following Wednesday's home defeat to Scunthorpe and he has been ruled out with a wrist injury.

Rider replacement will be in operation with Alfie Bowtell, Paul Starke and Sam Hagon eligible to cover his programmed outings.

Richard Lawson, who has proved to be an inspirational No.1 in recent away fixtures, has again been booked to guest.

CEO Nigel Tolley said: "This is a huge fixture and we simply have to put Wednesday night behind us.

"That wasn't good enough, the riders know it wasn't good enough and we need to see a much, much better performance at Edinburgh.

"Lately on the road, we've battled at Scunthorpe, we've won at Berwick and we've pushed a very good Redcar side.

"Edinburgh are the team currently level with us on points going for that final play-off spot and while they have that 18 point lead on aggregate, we need to focus on giving it everything we've got to try and get the two match points."

The fixture is the second part of a double-header at Armadale which also sees Edinburgh take on reigning Champions Poole from 7pm.

EDINBURGH: Craig Cook, Max Clegg, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna, Josh Pickering, Dayle Wood, Bastian Borke.
CURTIS SPORT BRUMMIES: Richard Lawson, Stefan Nielsen R/R, Troy Batchelor, Alfie Bowtell, Justin Sedgmen, Sam Hagon, Paul Starke.
