BIRMINGHAM Speedway would like to place on record their thanks and appreciation to the club’s outgoing captain and vice-captain.
Both Ashley Morris and James Shanes have been released by the Curtis Sport Brummies after a relatively lengthy association with the club.
Shanes joined part way through the 2018 National League season while Morris had been with the Perry Barr outfit since their step up to professional racing the following year.
Both riders also committed themselves to the Brummies last winter, despite the club’s future being uncertain at the time.
Shanes has now officially been unveiled by Championship rivals Redcar whilst Morris has also held talks with other second tier clubs.
Meanwhile, the club would also like to send best wishes for the future to Josh Auty who has been informed he doesn’t feature in team plans for 2023 - the experienced Brit saw his 2022 campaign ended prematurely with a broken leg.
