BIRMINGHAM'S return to home action has been delayed by a further week.

Wednesday's (July 7) scheduled fixture against Redcar at Perry Barr has been postponed due to England's involvement in Football's Euro 2020 Semi-Finals on the same night.

It means their next home meeting will be against Scunthorpe on Wednesday, July 14 (7.30) while they travel to Redcar's Media Prima Arena this Friday (July 9, 7.30).

Brummies co-promoter Laurence Rogers said: "We know there are people who aren't bothered about the football who were just desperate to get back to Perry Barr but from the club's point of view it would be a financial disaster to even try and compete with such a huge national event.

"Anyone who had bought tickets for the Redcar cup meeting will get them carried over to the rearranged event on a date yet to be confirmed.

"Supporters can also request a full refund if they wish.

"We now look forward to getting the boys back together on Friday at Redcar and in the meantime it's all about spreading the word that Speedway will be back at Perry Barr on Wednesday, July 14!"
