BIRMINGHAM star Chris Harris ended his 2020 season on a frustrating note as he missed out on the top eight in the Peter Craven Memorial at Belle Vue.

Harris, the winner of the event at the Aces’ former home of Kirkmanshulme Lane ten years ago, scored six points at the National Speedway Stadium, leaving him one short of the mark required to progress.

He collected three second places in his first four rides to remain in touch, but his hopes were dashed in a crunch Heat 17 in which he went off the unfavourable gate two.

Harris was initially in the mix with Richard Lawson, but home duo Dan Bewley and Brady Kurtz came charging through to relegate the Brummies man to the back, ending his involvement in the meeting.

The event was won by Swindon captain Jason Doyle, with Bewley second and Kurtz third in the six-rider Final.
