ELLIS REACHES SEMI-FINAL

Sunday September 01, 2019
ADAM Ellis was a defeated semi-finalist in today’s Championship Riders’ Individual at Sheffield.

The Brit produced a consistent performance at Owlerton scoring nine points from his first four outings before a last place in his final ride meant Ellis’ hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals relied on countback.

Ellis finished his programmed rides on nine points, level with Richard Lawson and Chris Harris - fortunately for the GB international he picked up one more race win than both riders to book his place in the semi-final.

This, however, left Ellis with last pick of gate positions ahead of the semi-final which proved vital as the Birmingham number one was squeezed out in the opening bends to leave him cast adrift at the back.

Brummies return to league action this Wednesday (7.30) when Scunthorpe are the visitors to Perry Barr.

Newcastle star Steve Worrall guests in place of Adam Ellis who is unavailable due to a prior commitment.
