ELLIS BOOST FOR BRUMMIES

BIRMINGHAM have received a huge boost ahead of Wednesday's Championship clash with Eastbourne at Perry Barr (7.30).

No.1 Adam Ellis is back in the line-up "“ just three weeks after he suffered a broken collarbone.

Team boss Laurence Rogers said: "From day one Adam said he was targeting a return within three weeks.

"We thought that was quite ambitious but fair play to him "“ it's certainly a pleasant surprise and a massive boost for the team.

"We've already beaten Eastbourne once at home this year and with the 1-7 we've got on Wednesday, there's absolutely no reason why we can't do that again if everyone rides how we know they can."

The Edwards Plumbing Brummies also hand a debut to youngster Jordan Jenkins and shuffle their riding order slightly.

All action star Jason Garrity, who impressed on his debut against Somerset a fortnight ago, moves to No.5 with Tero Aarnio now partnering Paco Castagna in the middle order of the side.

Birmingham, who face eight meetings in August, will be looking to end a run of six straight defeats with a full 1-7 to kickstart a busy month ahead.

Eastbourne have struggled on the road this year but have a dangerous, solid line-up nevertheless and will be boosted by their progression to the Championship Shield Final following a feisty encounter with Glasgow at the weekend.

A reminder that Kids 11 and Under are admitted absolutely FREE on what is a great night out for all the family.

The team pits will be open for supporters to get up close to the riders and their machines between 6.30 and 6.50.

Meanwhile recent recruit Jason Garrity will be available for autographs and pictures in the lower grandstand bar between 6.40 and 6.50.

Supporters will again be able to take advantage of the Perry Barr Centre Green Experience. Up to 25 supporters will have the chance to watch three races from the infield.

Tickets to watch Heats 12-14 will be on sale upon entry to the stadium for just £3 per person and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

There will also be games and activities on the centre green for junior supporters during the interval.

The main event will be followed by a top of the table clash in the Midland and Southern Development League as the Birmingham Ductair Electrics Bulls take on the Carmarthen Dragons.
