BIRMINGHAM have signed talented teenager Jordan Jenkins for the rest of the season.

The Norfolk youngster, who turned 18 on Friday, replaces David Wallinger at reserve.

Jenkins will make his debut in the Edwards Plumbing Brummies’ home fixture with Eastbourne at Perry Barr on Wednesday and team boss Laurence Rogers is delighted to finally have him in his line-up.

Said Rogers: “Jordan is someone we’ve had our eyes on for a bit now and it’s great to finally have him on board.

“He’s got plenty of potential and he’s delighted to finally be given a chance in the Championship.”

Jenkins himself has revealed how had more than one second tier club chasing his signature.

“I’ve had a few Championship clubs after me but when Birmingham got in touch it just felt right,” Jenkins said.

“There’s one or two things we had to sort behind the scenes to make it all happen, but we’ve managed to sort everything now and I’m really looking forward to it.

“Birmingham is a good club and I’ve spoken to a fair few people who I trust who have only said good things.

“There’s no pressure as such and I just want to come in, take it one ride at a time and hopefully show what I can do.”
