BIRMINGHAM have made two further changes ahead of Wednesday’s home clash with Somerset at Perry Barr (7.30).

Former British Under-19 Champion Jason Garrity comes in alongside David Wallinger with Ashley Morris and Danyon Hume the riders to make way.

Team boss Laurence Rogers says these may not be the last of the changes but concedes something had to be done with another home meeting fast approaching.

“Adam (Ellis) being ruled out with a broken collarbone changed everything we were looking at once again,” Rogers said.

“We identified a few potential replacements for him but in the meantime, we’ve got a facility for him and until the right person fits the bill then we’ll use that.

“It means we’ve had to tweak things lower down the order slightly.

“Jason Garrity is fully fit again and he is a top rider at this level on his day.

“He really is a demon on a speedway bike, he’s a real crowd pleaser and he’s desperate to get some points in the bag after a frustrating few weeks for him.

“To stay within the points limit we had to juggle things slightly at the lower end of the team and David Wallinger answered our call and if he can make some good starts, then he’s capable of scoring us some points along the way.

“We’re still awaiting results of the private scans Ash went for and we don’t really want to lose another home fixture so we had to do some thinking on our feet and make some changes.

“As for Danyon, whilst not hitting the ground running how we would’ve liked or expected, by the same token he hasn’t really done too much wrong.

“Again he’s just a victim of that numbers game we talk about so often and it’s a shame we had to let him go – but we had to do something in our current situation.”

Birmingham can also confirm they have booked former Great Britain international Steve Worrall for Wednesday’s home clash.

With the school summer holidays underway, a reminder that kids 11 and under go FREE and this week there will be a special pre-meeting party from 6.15 for all junior supporters with Chase and Skye from Paw Patrol.

Football season ticket holders from Aston Villa, Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Walsall, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Solihull Moors will also be admitted for just £10 upon production of their season ticket.
