BIRMINGHAM have received another pre-season boost with the news that Edwards Plumbing will continue as main team sponsors.

The local company have a signed a new and improved deal and will continue to back the Brummies as they return to professional league racing.

Birmingham co-owner David Mason said: “We may only be dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s now but we’ve known for a while that Edwards were going to be back on board.

“We’ve spoken to them a lot since the end of last season and having their reassurance that they would be willing to stay on board and back us even more made our decision to step up to the Championship that little bit easier.

“They’re not just immense backers financially, they’re also fantastic supporters of the club on racenights too.

“They always fill their hospitality box at Perry Barr whether it be with relatives or Edwards customers and we look forward to working with their directors Scott Dudley and Andy Edwards and their team again throughout 2019.”

Meanwhile, Edwards’ director Scott Dudley said: “We are really pleased to be back as team title sponsor of the Brummies.

“We really enjoyed last season and it was an easy decision to stay on.

“I know the step up in league will offer a different dynamic to the racing and I’m sure it will encourage even more fans to come to Perry Barr.

“We get a good mix of customers, staff and clients in our hospitality box, it’s offered me something extra as a business to offer on a weekly basis and the season can’t come quick enough now.

“We would like to put on record that we all thoroughly enjoyed the National League and it was great to see the likes of Tom (Bacon), Leon (Flint) and Sheldon (Davies) all step up and improve at the respective stages of their own careers. “

Press and Practice will be held at Perry Barr on Wednesday, March 27 from 1pm with the season opener a week later (Wednesday, April 3, 7.30) as the Edwards Plumbing Brummies host local rivals Wolverhampton in the David Mason Farewell.
